I just bought the 3 satellite system and set it up as a wireless system as i thought was supposed to, but i live in a newer house that has ethernet jacks in every room and was wondering what the benefit or detriment would be of hard wiring one or two of the satellites plugged into the ethernet jack (would that be backhaul) and would it make for faster speeds and better performance, I have 1GB from Century Link and use their modem as a modem but do have some things plugged into its 4 ports for fast hardwire speed. i also bought a 1GB switch that i have about 6 cables plugged into that is hooked up to the orbi router. anyone have any ideas on how to set this up as awesome aka fast as possible. Thanks in advance
Thanks for putting up such a vastly informative site. Really helps to learn and decide on our next router setups. I have a 1500 sqft home, but with a bit of a complex layout and solid brick walls. I am considering either Netgear Orbi RBK353 (3 pack dual band) or Orbi RBK752 (2 pack Tri band). My internet connection is 200 Mbps, and my main need is seamless connectivity while moving across 4 rooms and I have about 5-10 devices at max. Can you please suggest which would be a better option with and without ethernet backhaul.
New NETGEAR Orbi Router and wall plugs make the internet stronger
We also tested raw speed in terms of throughput at the farthest spot in the attic/sunroom, at a closer spot about 15 feet away with no obstructions, and in a bedroom on the second floor with several interior walls in between the laptop and the main router. We wanted to make it difficult for the mesh-router kits but not impossible, so we surveyed and dismissed other spots in the home during our initial setup.
Hi. I have Xfinity for television and internet (up to 600 Mbps) - not for phone. I have an approximately 2,000 s.f. home on two stories. Walls are standard wood construction with sheet rock, but all the walls have been retrofit and are solid. House is deep and narrow. We have 3+ adult users with phones, computers, smart TV, video games, etc. Not a lot of smart home devices yet. We bought our own cable modem router (Netgear C700), but even with the NETGEAR Extender EX8000, we are still getting poor signal quality in parts of the house (upstairs and rear of the house). What would you recommend? Thanks
You can install and configure the Orbi RBK30 using the mobile app or the web console. I used the mobile app and selected New System Setup upon launch. I was instructed to point my phone's camera at the QR code on the router, and once it was recognized, I followed the instructions to connect the router to the internet and power it up. I then plugged the satellite into a wall outlet in my living room, around 30 feet from the router. Using my phone's Wi-Fi settings, I connected my phone to the Orbi SSID, entered the supplied keyword, and returned to the app. Within seconds, the router was recognized, and I hit Next to pair the satellite with the router. Another few seconds, and the satellite was configured, and I moved on to name the system, give it a password, and set up a couple of security questions. The system needed a minute and a half to apply the settings, and I was finished.
If your existing Wi-Fi router is able to adequately cover most of your house, you may not necessarily need to buy a new one. A Wi-Fi extender is the perfect solution if you have one room or one section of your house where the internet always seems to cut out. Wi-Fi extenders are great for eliminating specific wireless dead spots, for giving your Wi-Fi signal a little more range to reach that far room or giving your Wi-Fi a little oomph to make it to the next floor.
The Tenda A27 range extender offers unparalleled signal extension throughout your home or office. Simply plug it into the wall and press a button to connect the range extender to your router. With the A27, you can make sure everyone in your building is always connected to a super-fast, reliable internet signal.

Netgear Orbi routers are a popular choice for mesh Wi-Fi networks. These routers are faster and support many devices like smart plugs, smartphones, and laptops, among others. Furthermore, the nodes ensure that your house has uniform Wi-Fi coverage, irrespective of its size. Since the tall nodes are cumbersome to place, the wall mounts for the Netgear Orbi routers help solve this issue. 2ff7e9595c
